A Lunch Tray Isn’t a Mobile Workspace

Most steering-wheel trays are designed primarily for eating, with laptop use treated as a secondary feature. But completing reports, estimates, inspections, emails and field work from your vehicle requires a solution designed around laptops and tablets.

  • Designed around laptop and tablet work
  • Built for reports, estimates and digital forms
  • Created for professionals whose vehicle becomes their office

Solving One Problem Shouldn’t Create Five More

Conventional steering-wheel trays can depend heavily on the wheel’s size, thickness and angle. Common frustrations include poor fit, awkward positioning, movement, hard contact points and bulky storage.

  • Doesn’t Fit the Wheel

Fixed openings may not accommodate thick wheels, sport-style wheels or steering-wheel covers.

  • Sits at an Awkward Angle

The steering wheel’s position can leave a one-piece tray tilted, too high or too close to the driver.

  • Slips or Flexes

Lightweight hook-style trays may move or bend during laptop use.

  • Can Leave Marks

Hard contact points can place pressure on leather, covered or padded steering wheels.

  • Too Bulky to Store

Large plastic trays can interfere with the seat and occupy valuable space inside the vehicle.

Designed Around the Problems

TrayZero replaces the large single-piece surface with two independently positioned, padded supports designed specifically for laptop and tablet work.

  • Adjustable clamp system

Designed for steering-wheel rims up to 2 inches thick, including many wheels with covers.

  • Independently positioned supports

Position each support around the wheel’s shape and the working angle of your device.

  • Clamp-based stability

Secure attachment designed to reduce the movement associated with simple hook-style trays.

  • Padded contact surfaces

Designed to reduce direct contact between hard components and the steering wheel.

  • Compact open design

Two supports provide a working position without carrying or storing a large plastic surface.

Prototype tested on select Ford, Dodge and Toyota vehicles, including steering wheels with covers. Compatibility varies by wheel shape, angle and cover.

Built for Steering-Wheel Grips Up to 2 Inches

TrayZero supports installed upright on a truck steering wheel in a field-work setting

Designed From Real Field Work

I spend long shifts working from my truck. Before TrayZero, I used a homemade support setup that only worked in one vehicle. I wanted something more portable, more stable, and capable of fitting different steering wheels. That experience led to TrayZero.
